Soaps
I started making soap for our son, who has very sensitive skin and is allergic to most ingredients that are in soap today. When I tried to figure out what he was allergic to, and started to read what was in soap, I realized that it's not soap at all we were using, it's detergent in a bar. Detergent is made from petroleum, and that can't be good for us. So I learned to make soaps the old fashioned way--with lye and oil. Ever since then, my son's skin hasn't had a problem, and we've all switched over to handmade soaps as well. It's made a difference for everyone. Why are they so fancy? Because working day to day is hard, no matter if it's in a farm or an office, and it's just nice to have a little something pretty waiting for you at the end of the day. A little luxury, you could call it. I make 'em as pretty as I can, but I don't sacrifice the quality of the ingredients. Performance is most important!
Our soaps are made with coconut oil, palm oil, olive oil, shea butter, and other oils, as well as lye to make them soap! They are natural and good for your skin-not harsh at all and super silky. They're also darn pretty, too!

Candles
Every once in a while, we pour a candle or two, just to make the homestead a little more special. Our candles are 100% soy wax with a cotton wick. They are hand poured into a one of a kind container (usually thrifted--we're repurposing!), so no two are alike!
